Bonbons

Set amidst a dense residential neighborhood with predominantly high rise buildings, Bonbons is a petite patisserie that dreams big. The linear space had to be efficiently planned for a kitchen space, display unit and seating. The material palette is limited to a trio of concrete, wood and white walls: broken with pops of aqua blue and chrome yellow. The loose furniture: benches, tables, stools and counters; are custom-made to match the minimal nature of the space using only metal and packing wood. The windows, devoid of any covering, are highlighted with a splash of aqua blue to open up space and bring attention to the view outside. The white walls reflect more light, thus making the inside seem inviting. Hexagons are a key motif throughout the extent of the space, from the honeycomb pattern on the walls, false ceiling, and geometric lighting fixtures to the wooden hexagonal wall décor. Drawing inspiration from French cafes, Bonbons acts as the perfect spot for a rendezvous that embodies the Parisian way of unwinding and relaxing.
